Movement Boxes

When you have finished the modelization of a scene, you have to set up movement boxes.

To do so, you will have to use a quite Max complex command : The Create Box. This command can be found in the create/ standard Primitives / box panel.

The create box command

Therefore, the created boxes correspond to the avatars' movement zones, these are not collision boxes. They should interpenetrate or juxtapose correctly, you should use the snap grid to make it easier.

You may now modifiy the boxes you have created. To do so, convert them to editable mesh then move their dots. In no case you should use Scale or even rotate one of these boxes.

Generally speaking, the movement boxes height was set to 1 m. If you want to enable your visitors to fly, you should increase the boxes height. Boxes should not get closer than 1 m from the walls to avoid a too important pixelization in the engine.

IMPORTANT

Once the creation of these boxes is over, you should do a reset xform / collapse on each of them, and rename them box_01, box_02, and so on...

On exporting, you will get along with the m3d, a box file containing the coordinates of the movement zones.
