Description of the tool
This tool is used to customize the installation of Scol Engine.
You can add your own files in the cache or Scol partition, add elements on the Scol Engine interface, etc.
1 Preparation
Copy the executable customizer.exe and the files English.lang and French.lang in a directory.
In this directory, create the following customized components :
- files language.lang (at
least one file mandatory) :
Localization files of displayed
messages.
language is the user computer language among :
Neutral, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, ChineseT, Czech, Danish, German,
Greek, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian,
Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Croatian,
Serbian, Slovak, Albanian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian, Ukrainian,
Belarusian, Slovenian, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Farsi, Vietnamese, Armenian,
Azeri, Basque, Macedonian, Afrikaans, Georgian, Faeroese, Hindi, Malay, Kazak,
Swahili, Uzbek, Tatar, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada,
Malayalam, Assamese, Marathi, Sanskrit, Konkani, Manipuri, Sindhi, Kashmiri,
Nepali.
- file deflang.ini (optional)
:
Contains the default language
to use if the language file matching the user language is not found.
In this latter case, if the file deflang.ini is not found, "English"
is taken by default.
- files author.language.txt
or author.txt (at least one file mandatory) :
language is the
user language.
The file author.txt is taken by default if the one matching the user language
is not found.
The content of this file will be printed in the first screen displayed to the
user just after an introduction.
You can use it for example to show your whereabouts.
- files licence.language.txt
or licence.txt (optional) :
language is the
user language.
The file licence.txt is taken by default if the one matching the user language
is not found.
If present, the content of this file will be printed in the second screen displayed
to the user.
He will then have the choice between
accepting the licence (click on OK) to go on with the installation or refusing
it (click on cancel).
- file scp10.exe (optional) :
If present, launches the
Scol Engine installation.
It must be a copy of the file located in http://www.cryo-networks.com/files/scp10.exe
- file versionscol.ini (mandatory
only if scp10.exe present) :
Must contain the update
date of Scol Engine installed or updated by scp10.exe in the format :
update YYYY-MM-DD
Customized installation will go on
only if the update date of Scol Engine installed or updated (update line in
usm.ini) is greater or equal to this date.
- file partition/author/version.ini
(optional) :
author is the sub-directory
specific to the author of the customized installation.
This file contains the version number of the customization in the format :
version X Y
(for example "version 1 0")
The customized files copy and update
will be done only if this
number is greater or equal to the one possibly found in the Scol corresponding
directory.
- directory partition/auteur
(optional) :
The content of this directory
will be copied in the same location in the Scol partition (subject to the version
number, see above).
- directory cache (optional)
:
The content of this directory
will be copied in the Scol cache (subject to the version number, see above).
- directory pub (optional)
:
The content of this directory
will be copied in the Scol directory partition/locked/pub (subject to the version
number, see above).
- file bookmark.txt (optional)
:
The content of this file
will be merged to the Scol file partition/locked/etc/bookmark.txt (subject to
the version number, see above).
- file custom.txt (optional)
:
The content of this file
will be merged to the Scol file partition/locked/etc/custom.txt (subject to
the version number, see above).
- file autostart.ini (optional)
:
If present, Scol Engine
is launched at the end of customized installation.
- files url.language.ini
or url.ini (optional) :
language is the
user language.
The file url.ini is taken by default if the one matching the user language is
not found.
If present, the URL included in the file is launched.
If this URL is of type file://, the following path must be relative to the directory
partition/author specific to the author of the customized installation.
Other valid URL are : http://, ftp://, news://, mailto://, scol://, rtsp://.
- file name.ico (optional)
:
It is the icon that will
be created on the desk, associated to the URL of file url.ini.
It created only if the following conditions are satisfied :
- the file url.ini (or url.language.ini) exists and contains a valid
URL
- the directory partition/author exists in the customizer directory
In the case it would be created, the icon is copied in the Scol directory partition/author/desk.
In this latter directory are generated
the two files name.scol and name.pkg necessary to launch the URL.
2 Use
Just launch the executable customizer.exe.
